Rehabilitate an Abandoned Well

Strapline

For a multitude of reasons, we often find old abandoned or non-functioning wells.  To improve a village’s access to safe drinking water we first assess all existing water supplies and make sure these are being used to their full potential before drilling any new wells needed.  Help us to rehabilitate old abandoned wells which often just require new hand pumps.  We use the India MK-II stainless steel hand pump that the local community can use, maintain and manage moving forwards ensuring sustainable water supply. This year we hope to rehabilitate 20 wells with new hand pumps costing £1,300/well.
